About this place

Neunkirchen am Brand is a historic market town in the district of Forchheim, located on the edge of the Franconian Switzerland region just a few kilometers east of Erlangen. With a history spanning more than 1,000 years, the town was shaped for centuries by its Augustinian monastery. The charming town center, featuring half-timbered houses, the impressive St. Michael's Church, and the well-preserved remains of the former monastery complex, is perfect for a leisurely stroll. Cozy cafés, restaurants, and small shops create a welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to its convenient location, Neunkirchen am Brand is also an excellent base for hiking and cycling tours through Franconian Switzerland or for day trips to Erlangen, Nuremberg, and Bamberg.
